Who do you know who...? (Jan 2010)

This month, we're looking for:

  1. artists and sculptors,
  2. businesses who sell into schools, and finally
  3. anyone looking for a new pair of sunglasses(!)

An eclectic bunch, I'm sure you'd agree, so an explanation would probably be helpful, yes?

OK, here goes:

Artists and sculptors

One of our newest clients, Artsbowl.com, the creative courses hub is rapidly expanding. Here's how it works:

  • Those creative types who run courses for others (think sculpting, bonsai tree care, painting, creative writing and so on) can join Artsbowl for free and advertise their courses,
  • People who are interested in exploring their creative side will find Artsbowl a useful resource and 'hub' for all things related to creative courses

Artsbowl is steadily climbing up the Google rankings and in popularity. I happen to know that on the cards for later in 2010 are plans to introduce a tiered level of membership with two or three paid levels of membership and some really cool community building and marketing tools that will really help course providers to promote and fill their courses.

All this means that Artsbowl represents a great opportunity for anyone in that field. Existing members stand to benefit from being in early as they're likely to receive any special offers, discounts or beta programs that Artsbowl offer.

So, anyone you know who provides these kinds of services or is just interested in creative arts, either send them along to artsbowl.com or ask them to get in touch with me and I'll put them directly in touch with Daniel Lingham, the CEO of Artsbowl. Also, Daniel is currently looking for sponsors for 2010 and 2011 for Artsbowl so if you know of larger organisations who operate in the creative industries, I'd be grateful for the introduction.

Selling to schools?

Want to get your name in front of more than 36,000 schools? Got your attention? Great! Read on…

The Brit Writers Awards (britwriters.co.uk) is an exciting new initiative to encourage and inspire unpublished writers of all ages. Writers across the country are already submitting their work in one or more of 11 Awards categories including Poetry, Short stories, Novels, Children's stories and Songwriting for adults and Poetry, Short stories and Songwriting for young people.

Supported by a wide range of household names such as The Reading Agency, Faber Music and Training Connect as well as politicians like David Cameron, Nick Clegg and Alex Salmond, BWA is working closely with the Education sector and UK schools and is currently talking to 36,000 schools about taking entries from their pupils on behalf of the schools.

If you sell into - or would like to sell into schools, drop me a line and let me know and I'll send you details as to how you can quickly, easily and, most importantly, affordably take advantage of the massive publicity that will be surrounding the Brit Writers' Awards.
