As the founder of UnderDesign, Patrick has grown the company from a sole trader in 2006 to become one of Nottingham’s leading web and online marketing agencies. An experienced website developer in his own right, Patrick has been working in Information Technology since 1985, leaving college as a COBOL programmer in the early 80’s. Patrick is one of the first people in the UK to have been qualified as both a Microsoft Certified Developer (MCD) as well as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).

He has enough energy for all the team and, as a serial entrepreneur, continues to build and run businesses here in the UK.

In the mid 90’s, Patrick was setting up Bulletin Board Systems (BBS’s) when the Internet suddenly (seemingly overnight) became mainstream. Sensing a massive opportunity, Patrick retrained himself as a website designer and developer and has, over the last 13 years, become proficient at a wide range of SQL database management systems (DBMS’s) ranging from Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server and Access as well as a range of programming languages and scripts including PHP, HTML, Python, Javascript, Perl and CGI scripting.

Patrick has also written a number of articles on Internet marketing that have been published in Fresh Business Thinking, IFA Life, and Observer Newspaper amongst others and his monthly UnderDesign newsletter attracts over 4,000 subscribers.

Business networking is a passion of his and Patrick is also responsible for creating the Fifty Finest networking group as well as being involved with networking groups run by UnderDesign's local Borough Council, the Gedling Business Partnership. Patrick is also a BlackStar on the hugely popular online networking platform, Ecademy and is also involved in running the extremely popular Ecademy East Midlands networking events.

In 2008, Patrick was invited to join Courvoisier The Future 500 Network, set up by the Observer newspaper and Courvoisier to identify 'the brightest and best rising stars across ten fields in the UK'.
